Hockey Plus...Camps

Our combined sports camps are designed to cultivate the complete athlete, focusing on holistic development that goes beyond just one sport. Morey Gare- Founder/Owner

Morey Gare

Morey has been involved in the game of hockey for over fifty years as a player ,coach and scout. An NHL draft pick of the New York Islanders, Morey played four years at Northern Michigan University graduating with a Physican Education degree and serving as team captain for 3 years. He continued at Northern Michigan as an assistant coach for ten years and was integral part of the coaching staff in 1991 when the Wildcats won a NCAA DI National title. In his years at Northern he helped recruit and coach close to dozen players that would play in the National Hockey League. His coaching experience also includes Junior A, and the American Hockey League as an assistant coach for the Edmonton Oilers top affiliate the Hamilton Bulldogs. He then began a fifteen career with the Oilers as Pro scout, being promoted to Head Pro scout for the last eight years. Subsequent to the Oilers, Morey worked for Hockey Canada as a scout for the World Cup and 2018 Men's Olympic team. He then served as position as Pro scout for the Carolina Hurricanes of the NHL for three years.

Morey has also served as a lead instructor at many of the top hockey schools in Canada and the US. His wide range of experiences and knowledge of the game has given him a clear picture of what it takes to be a successful player in today's game.
